The game broke like 5 minutes before it the jam ended. There is a fully working version available for after the jam. Note: the part which is broken is when you enter the shop you can only purchase one piece. Otherwise, gameplay should work.

Tessera is a roguelike strategy/puzzle game based around Tetris where you play as someone controlling a Tetris machine. The Tetris machine is at a casino you absolutely hate, and you want to scam them out of as much money as possible. 

Gameplay

 In control of the machine, you are in charge of selecting what pieces the player places and what mechanics they unlock. The player however, not you, chooses where to place the piece and how much they need to spin them. After all, in Tessera you must spin the pieces in order to win. You start with a couple pieces to place. After you run out of those pieces, you enter a shop. In the shop, you have funds based on how well the player scored. You have to balance using those funds to buy upgrades as well as more pieces. You must buy at least one piece in order to exit the shop. The ‘player’ will inevitably lose, at which point the run ends and you start again. 

Upgrades

Upgrades range in effect. Some will increase the player's input speed, while others will provide them with new abilities. Some upgrades will also increase the player's decision quality. Decision quality is how good the player is at picking what they think is the best possible placement of a piece.

 What's the goal? 

The goal of Tessera is to scam the Casino out of as much money as possible, which is by done by achieving the highest score possible.
